EMELA "Bochkovye" Pickled Red Tomatoes are prepared according to the time-honored "barrel" (bochka) method. This 900g jar features large, juicy red tomatoes that have been naturally fermented in a traditional brine. Unlike standard pickled tomatoes that rely on vinegar for acidity, the "Bochkovye" style focuses on natural lacto-fermentation, resulting in a sharp, effervescent tang and a complex, savory aroma. Infused with garlic, dill, and grape leaves, these tomatoes offer a rustic, "homemade" flavor profile that is both refreshing and bold.

The term "Bochkovye" refers to the traditional method of aging vegetables in wooden barrels. This process allows the tomatoes to absorb the herbal notes of the brine while developing a unique, slightly fizzy texture that is highly prized in Slavic "zakuska" (appetizer) culture.
Ready to eat. These tomatoes are best served chilled as a standalone appetizer or alongside hearty meat dishes. The brine (rassol) is also a traditional remedy, often consumed cold for its electrolyte-rich properties. For a classic experience, serve with a drizzle of unrefined sunflower oil and fresh onions.
